Summer Camps & Staycation Discounts in San Antonio

2015 March 16

It may only be spring but right now is when plans need to be made for your summer staycation. Registrations are now open for just about all of the summer camps in and around San Antonio. Alamo City Moms put together a fantastic “2015 Guide to Summer Camps in San Antonio” which lists all of the best summer camps and registration information for those camps. There’s even some nice tips on how to save a little extra money off the cost of your registration fees. Highlights include The DoSeum Summer Camps, Adventure Summer Camp at the Witte, Theatre Camps at The Playhouse, Green Tree Sports and Tennis and Camp, Ballerina Camp just to name a few. Now if you just want to visit rather than attend a camp then check out some of the tips here on how to save on your admission costs.

First off, be sure to download the SAVE coupons from the San Antonio Convention & Visitors Bureau. There’s coupons inside for The DoSeum, The Witte Museum, and The Magik Theatre as well as coupons for other San Antonio attractions. Want to save even more money? Get the Entertainment Book which is full of thousands of dollars worth of coupons and discounts for area attractions, entertainment, shopping, and dining. It is a perfect companion for a San Antonio staycation and literally pays for itself with just a couple of uses.

Love theater? Check out the list of performances at The Playhouse. Discount tickets are available for seniors ($7 discount), military ($7 discount), students ($15 discount), and there are children’s ticket prices as well. The Magik Theatre also has performances throughout the season and offers discounts for seniors, military, and educators as well. Finally, the Cibolo Nature Center is free and open to the public. Visit anytime as there is always plenty to do for the entire day.

There are a few other summer camps that we’ll add to the list as well. The YMCA is always a good place to look for summer camps. Kids with special interests will love the Summer at the Academy programs at the San Antonio Academy. Kids that love the water will enjoy the summer camps at the Hawaiian Falls Waterpark. Finally, don’t forget about the San Antonio Zoo. They too have some fantastic camps all summer long!
